Publications

The GMB Fellowship has published a variety of books and pamphlets which include writing by people of all ages and reflect our aim to encourage new writing in all the languages of Orkney. They include anthologies of poems, short stories and non-fiction by Orkney writers and visiting writers. Among their pages you will find writing in English, Scots – including Orcadian and Shetlandic – and Italian.

As well as work by adults, we have published collections of writing and artwork by children and young people throughout Orkney. We also have an introduction to Orkney writers, That Bright Lifting Tide, commissioned by our young writers group, Wirdsmit, and compiled and edited by writer Alison Miller with a foreword by former Scots Makar Liz Lochhead.
