Sea Feast
As part of its 2018 programme of events the Hoy Heritage Centre hosted a spring renga with the GMB Fellowship at Rackwick and Hoy Kirk. Participants came from Hoy, Longhope, Rendall and Stromness and were welcomed by Hoy Heritage officer Rebecca Marr and Jeff Clark, Chair of the Friends of Hoy Kirk.

The writers spent the morning at Rackwick then the bus took them to Hoy Kirk for lunch, with a stop on the way to look up at the eyrie of the white-tailed sea eagles. With the wind strengthening, they finished the renga in the Kirk in the afternoon.

The following week there was a reading of Sea Feast, the 20-verse renga, at an evening event in Hoy Kirk with Hoy Sound choir, a programme of readings and music inspired by the work of George Mackay Brown, a regular visitor to Rackwick.
